IEA (Interscholastic Equestrian Association

Dear Meadowood boarders, lesson riders, and families,

Many of you know that Meadowood Stables has a competitive Middle/High School show team that competes through the auspices of the IEA (Interscholastic Equestrian Association), a nationally recognized organization that brings the horse showing experience to those that don’t own horses. Our riders have learned much about horse showing by traveling to different barns and riding horses they’ve just met while competing against upper-level equitation riders. Our team has grown from 4 to now 17 riders. When we first started the team, we didn’t have the horses or manpower to host a show at Meadowood. We always competed at other barns and shared hosting duties with another farm. Well, that is about to change!!

On Saturday, September 24 we will be hosting our first IEA show at Meadowood! We are expecting about 65 riders and their families as well as our team to compete at Meadowood, riding our wonderful horses. This is a HUGE undertaking for us, and we are going to need a lot of help! In the next week or so we will be sending out volunteer sign-ups for all the areas we need help; everything from parking assistants, horse bathers, holders to ring helpers. There will be lots of opportunities to help and you don’t need to be an IEA parent with a rider to help! Consider this notice an “All hands-on deck” moment.

The tentative volunteer schedule is from 2:00- 6:00 pm Friday and 7:00-4:00 on Saturday. We will offer a variety of time slots so there will be many options to help. We just ask that if you sign up to help that you commit to your agreement and be here as you offered.

We are very excited about this opportunity to showcase Meadowood and our wonderful horses.
